Chiba Dhokli
Chiba Dhokli is a traditional Gujarati recipe which can be prepared quickly with just few ingredients. This Gujarati recipe is prepared using gram flour and is steamed. This Gujarati Nasto is prepared with very less oil. This visarati vangi is not only tasty and tempting but healthy too. Whenever you feel to have some quick yummy snack Chiba Dhokli is the best recipe to try out.
  • 1 Cup of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1 Teaspoon Green Chilli (Hari Mirch) Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Kasuri Methi
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Water 
  • 1 Teaspoon Oil 
For Serving
  • Oil
  • Achaar Masala
  1. In a mixing cup take gram flour, add turmeric powder, green chilli paste, kasuri methi, lemon juice and salt. Add sugar as per taste and mix it.
  2. Add little water slowly to the mixture and mix it. For 1 cup gram flour you will require approximately 1/2 cup of water.
  3. Add oil and asafoetida. Mix well and prepare a slightly thick batter. Make sure it is not runny and there no lumps left in the mixture.
  4. Now boil some water in a deep bottomed utensil.
  5. Spread the batter evenly on a plate. Make it as thin as possible.
  6. Once the water is boiled place the plate upside down. On high flame steam it for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Once it is cooked apply some oil and sprinkle some chaat masala. Cut it with a knife and remove the pieces. Chiba Dhokli a visarati vangi is ready to eat.
