Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1.5 Cups of Washed Rice
- 1/2 Cup of Green Moong Dal
- 1 Cup Green Peas (Matar)
- 1 Cup Spinach (Palak) Puree
- 3-4 Finely Chopped Spring Onion Bulbs
- Finely Chopped Spring Onion Greens
- 10-12 Finely Chopped Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Green Chilli (Hari Mirch) Paste
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- Cheese
- Ghee
Procedure:
- Heat some ghee in pressure cooker. Add finely chopped garlic cloves and sauté it well.
- Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Stir it.
- Add finely chopped spring onions bulb. Sauté it well.
- Add green chilli paste and fry it well.
- Add spinach puree and green peas. Sauté it well for 3-5 minutes.
- Add washed rice and washed green moong dal. Stir well.
- Add salt and water as per requirement. Mix well. Add some ghee and close the lid of pressure cooker. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
- After cooker cools down, garnish it with spring onion greens and cheese. Cheese Hariyali Khichdi is ready.
