 Masala Rava Appam

Appam is a traditional South Indian recipe which is eaten during the breakfast. Today we will make instant appam recipe. Masala Rava Appam is very quick to make and while preparing this instant rava appam recipe we have neither used eno nor we have used soda. You can enjoy this appam with coconut chutney. Recipe: 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Cup Semolina (Rava)
  • ½ Cup Poha
  • ¼ Cup Grated Coconut (Nariyal)
  • ½ Cup Curd (Dahi) 5-6 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Ke Daane)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Seeds (Sabut Dhania)
  • 2-3 Pieces of Tamarind (Imli)
  • Jaggery (Gud)
  • Salt

Procedure:

  1. In a mixer add semolina, poha, grated coconut, dried red chilies, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, tamarind, jaggery, curd and salt. Grind it well. Add water and prepare batter for appam.
  2. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.
  3. On a tawa spread some ghee, pour the batter and spread it evenly.
  4. Let it roast well and then turn it. Cook the other side for just 2-3 minutes. Our Appam is ready, serve it with coconut chutney.
