Onion Paratha - Pyaz Ka Paratha
Onion Paratha is a very simple recipe to make for breakfast. This Pyaz ka Paratha is prepared using wheat flour and a nice spicy and tangy onion filling. Ingredients:
  • 1.5-2 Cups of Wheat Flour (Gehun Atta)
  • 4-5 Finely Chopped Onions
  • 8-10 Finely Chopped Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
  • 4-5 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Inch Finely Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • ¾ Teaspoon Fennel Seed (Saunf) Powder
  • Salt
  • Ghee
Procedure:
  1. In wheat flour add salt and water. Knead a dough for paratha. Apply some oil to make it smooth. Let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl add chopped onion, chopped garlic cloves, chopped green chilies, chopped ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, fennel seed powder and salt. Mix well.
  3. Take a portion of the dough, dust it with some wheat flour and roll it to small roti. Fill the stuffing, close the ends, dust it with flour and make a paratha.
  4. Roast the paratha on a hot tawa. Apply ghee on both sides and roast it well. Pyaz ka Paratha is ready to eat.
