Toast recipe is a popular street food of Kolhapur. The speciality of
this street food recipe is that it has a nice crispy texture which makes
it very tempting and a sumptuous snack to accompany your tea. This
recipe is very quick to make so do try out and enjoy it with a cup of
tea and some fried green chilies.

Ingredients:
- Bread
- 2 Cups of Gram Flour (Besan)
- 1 Tablespoon of Rice Flour (Chawal ka Atta)
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic (Lehsun) Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
- 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Til)
- Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
- Salt
- Oil
- Water
Procedure:
- In a mixing bowl add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida, cumin seeds, garlic paste, sesame seeds and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Add water gradually to it and make a thick mixture.
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of hot oil to the batter and mix well.
- Cut the bread slice into two pieces. Apply the batter on both sides of the bread and stick some sesame seeds on one side.
- Heat oil and deep fry the bread. Masala toast is ready, serve it with fried green chilies.
