Tameta Nu Shaak

Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 10-12 Tomatoes
  • 3-4 Crushed Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak-Lehsun) Paste
  • 8-10 Finley Chopped Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Ke Daane)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Roast tomatoes in oil on iron tawa till they become soft. You can also use pan instead of iron tawa.
  2. Mash the roasted tomatoes.
  3. Add finely chopped coriander leaves to it and mash it.
  4. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida and finely chopped curry leaves. Stir well.
  5. Add crushed green chilies and ginger-garlic paste and stir it well.
  6. Add the mashed tomatoes and mix well.
  7. Close lid and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Now add dhana jeera powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix well.
  9. Add sugar if required and our Tameta Nu Shaak is ready.
