Today let us make Dungli Bataka Nu Shaak in a different way. I have this dungli bataka nu shaak in khada masala and prepared a gravy consisting of onions and tomatoes. Ingredients:
  • 500 Grams Diced Potatoes
  • 2-3 Diced Onions
  • 2-3 Lengthwise Chopped Green Chili (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 2-3 Finely Chopped Tomato
  • 8-10 Finely Chopped Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
  • 3-4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 4-5 Cloves (Laung)
  • 2-3 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
  • 2-3 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Shallow fry diced potatoes and let them turn golden brown. Now add diced onions and green chilies. Shallow fry them well.
  2. Now take the fried vegetables in a bowl and in the same kadhi heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, dried red chilies, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Stir them well.
  3. Add garlic cloves and fry it little bit. Add chopped onions and let them turn golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomato and stir it well. Once the tomatoes are cooked add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder and red chili powder. Mix well.
  5. Add shallow fried vegetables and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add water and cook it well. Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes. Dungli Bataka Nu Shaak is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
