Dungri Bateta Nu Shaak is an everyday Gujarati recipe which is prepared in every Gujarati home. This dungri bataka nu shaak recipe in Gujarati is prepared by sautéing onions and potatoes in simple spices. This recipe can be an excellent tiffin recipe. Also you can add this Gujarati shaak between two breads and toast it to enjoy a yummy potato sandwich. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 7-8 Lengthwise Chopped Potatoes
  • 2 Sliced Onions
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and sliced onions. Stir till the onions turn transparent.
  2. Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and stir well.
  3. Now add chopped potatoes and salt. Mix well.
  4. Close lid and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Garnish with some coriander leaves.
  6. Dungri bataka nu shaak is ready. Serve with soft phulkas.
