Gatta Nu Shaak is a popular Rajasthani delicacy which consists of gram flour (besan) based gatte cooked in onion based gravy. This traditional Rajasthani recipe is very tasty and delicious recipe yet simple and easy to cook quick homemade gravy recipe. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 1.5 Cups Gram Flour
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Dhana Jeera Powder
  • Asafoetida
  • ½ Teaspoon Carom Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 2-3 Teaspoon Oil
  • Curd
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
Method –
  1. Knead firm dough of 1.5 cups of gram flour, ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon red chilli powder, ½ teaspoon asafoetida, ½ teaspoon carom seeds, 2-3 teaspoon oil, 2 teaspoon curd and water.
  2. Apply some oil to palms and prepare rolls from the dough.
  3. In boiling water place these rolls and let them cook for 10-15 minutes.
  4. After they are cooked cut them into equal pieces.
  5. Now heat some oil and add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and ½ teaspoon asafoetida.
  6. Add chopped onion and stir till it becomes transparent.
  7. Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  8. Add ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 2 teaspoon dhana-jeera powder and mix well.
  9. Add 1 cup of curd and stir well.
  10. Add some water and stir well.
  11. Add salt as per taste and let the sabji cook for a while.
  12. Now add the gatte and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  13. Finish it with some coriander leaves.
