Surti Papdi Nu Shaak | Gujarati Shaak Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi


Surti Papdi is a vegetable that is primarily available the winter season. We would like to bring you this winter special recipe straight from the kitchens of Gujarat. This recipe consists of Surti Papdi cooked with brinjals and potatoes. Along with these beautiful vegetables we have some of the traditional gujarati masalas mixed with the vegetables. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 250 Grams Surti Papdi
  • 150 Grams Diced Brinjals
  • 2 Diced Potatoes
  • 1 Diced Tomato
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 3 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Dal Shaak Masala
Method – 
  1. Heat oil and add carom seeds.
  2. Now add diced potatoes, surti papdi, diced brinjals and fry them well.
  3. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder and red chilli powder.
  5. Mix well and salt as per taste.
  6. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Add dal shaak masala and diced tomato.
  8. Add some water as per requirement and mix well. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
  9. Add some coriander leaves.
  10. Surti Papdi Nu Shaak is ready.
