Dosa Recipe | South Indian Dosa Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Dosa is a popular South Indian dish which is enjoyed a lot by everyone. Dosa comprises of Urad dal and Rice mixed in the ratio of 1:2. This healthy south Indian recipe can be prepared in either oil, ghee or butter. Do try out this South Indian delicacy and let us know about the taste in the comment box. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 3 Cups Rice
  • 1.5 Cups of Urad Dal
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil/Butter/Ghee
Method –
  1. Soak rice and urad dal separately for 8-10 hours. Grind them separately and then mix them to form a batter. Let it ferment for another 8-10 hours
  2. Now add salt and water as per requirement and make slightly thick consistency for the dosa. The consistency should be enough to spread the batter and make a thin crispy dosa on a pan.
  3. Now pour some oil on hot tawa. Wipe it with a napkin and then sprinkle some water on the pan. Wipe this water. This will make our dosa crispy and can be easily removed from the pan once the dosa is done.
  4. Pour the batter and spread it evenly.
  5. Once it is partially done at the bottom, pour some oil over it.
  6. Once the Dosa is done serve it with chutney and sambar.
