Panori is a traditional Gujarati recipe which is prepared using very
less oil. This Gujarati visrati vangi is very easy to make and is
prepared in an unique way. This recipe is prepared by using green moong
dal. Some basic condiments and coriander leaves are added to green moong
dal to make this fantastic Gujarati recipe. This Gujarati Panori recipe

- 1 Cup Green Moong Dal
- 8-10 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
- 1-1.5 Inch Ginger (Adrak)
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
- 1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
- 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
- Salt
- Soak green moong dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water.
- In a mixer cup add green moong dal, green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, carom seeds, asafoetida, coriander leaves and very less water. Add only 2 tablespoon of water and grind it.
- Whisk the mixture well. Add salt and black pepper and mix well. The batter should be thick, it is runny you can add some gram flour.
- Now boil water in a deep bottomed utensil.
- Take a lid that would fit the utensil and grease the lower part with oil. Spread the batter on it and spread it evenly. Sprinkle some achaar masala over it.
- Place the lid over the utensil such that the batter is at the bottom. Steam on high flame for 8 minutes.
- After 8 minutes, cut it into pieces and serve it with some peanut oil. Gujarati Panori is ready.
