Recipe:
Ingredients:

  • 1-1.5 Cups of Leftover Rice
  • 1 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Cup Jowar Flour
  • 1.5 Cups of Finely Chopped Fenugreek Leaves
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • ½ Cup Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • 2-3 Teaspoons of Green Chilli-Ginger-Garlic (Hari Mirch-Adrak-Lehsun) Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Salt
  • Oil

Procedure:

  1. In a mixer cup add cumin seeds, carom seeds and leftover rice. Make a paste.
  2. Take it in a plate to knead a dough. Add fenugreek leaves, onion, coriander leaves, green chilli-ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, asafoetida, gram flour, jowar flour and salt. Knead a dough. You won’t require water to knead it as rice and fenugreek has moisture.
  3. Take a portion of dough and flatten it on a wet cloth. Make as thin as possible. Make three holes in it to cook it well.
  4. Grease a tawa with oil and lift the cloth along with the mixture and place the mixture on the tawa and remove the cloth. Cook it well. Add little oil from top. Cook well from both sides.
  5. Tasty nashto from leftover rice is ready. Try it with pickle or curd.
