Batata Nu Shaak recipe can be prepared in various ways. In this recipe
we will prepare Batata Nu Shaak in a different way and that too in just
5-7 minutes. We have added grated coconut while make this Gujarati shaak
to give it a nice taste. Addition of Kashmiri red chili powder gives
nice colour to this Gujarati recipe. This Gujarati Batata Nu Shaak

- ½ Kg Boiled Potatoes
- ¼ Cup Grated Coconut (Nariyal)
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
- ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
- ¾ Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch) Powder
- Salt
- Ghee
- In a mixing bowl take the potatoes, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and grated coconut. Mix well.
- Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves. Sauté it.
- Add the potatoes and mix well. Make the potatoes crispy from bottom. Batata Nu Shaak is ready.
