Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • ¾ Cup of Corn Kernels (Makai Dana) Paste
  • 1 Cup of Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)
  • ¾ Cup of Rice Flour (Chawal ka Atta)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Green Chilli-Ginger (Hari Mirch-Adrak) Paste
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • ½ Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, rice flour, corn kernel (makai dana) paste, turmeric powder, green chilli-ginger paste, lemon juice, sugar, salt, some oil and coriander leaves. Mix well and prepare a dough. Add water if required but generally you won’t require water as the corn paste has enough moisture to knead the dough.
  2. Using some oil make the dough smooth and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Take a portion of the dough and roll out a big roti and then using a small bowl cut puris from it.
  4. Deep fry the puris and our makai ni puri is ready to enjoy with pickle.
