Methi Matar Malai

Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Finely Chopped Fenugreek (Methi)
  • 1 Cup Green Peas (Matar)
  • ¾ Cup of Cream (Malai)
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 2 Diced Tomatoes
  • 2-3 Teaspoons of Kasuri Methi
  • 8-10 Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
  • 3 Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
  • 1-1.5 Inch Ginger (Adrak)
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
  • 5-6 Cloves (Laung)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a mixer cup add green chilies, cashew nuts, ginger, garlic cloves, cinnamon stick, cloves and tomatoes. Grind it into a smooth paste.
  2. In a kadhai roast the kasuri methi and remove it in a bowl.
  3. Add some oil in same kadhai and add fenugreek leaves. Add green peas and sauté it well.
  4. Remove the fenugreek and green peas in a bowl.
  5. Heat some oil in same kadhai and add chopped onions. Stir till it turns light brown.
  6. Add the prepared paste and stir till it cooks well.
  7. Now add turmeric pwder, dhana jeera powder, red chili powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well.
  8. Add fenugreek and green peas. Mix well.
  9. Add cream and stir well.
  10. Add water and mix well. Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  11. Add roasted kasuri methi and mix well. Methi Matar Malai is ready.
