Palak Paneer Pulao


Palak Paneer Pulao is a very tasty and quick recipe to prepare for dinner. The amazing taste of palak paneer coupled with the preparation of pulao is a must try recipe. We have shallow fried the paneer which gives nice taste to the pulao. Also we have sautéed the basmati rice in palak masala which makes it more tasty. Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Washed Basmati Rice
  • 250 Grams of Paneer Cubes
  • Puree of 200 Grams of Spinach (Palak)
  • 1 Lengthwise Chopped Onion
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak-Lehsun) Paste
  • 2-3 Lengthwise Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1-2 Cinnamon Sticks (Dalchini)
  • 1 Star Anise (Chakri Phool)
  • 2 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)
  • 8-10 Black Peppercorns (Sabut Kali Mirch)
  • 5-6 Cloves (Laung)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Biryani Masala
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons of Ghee
  • Water
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil and shallow fry the paneer cubes. Make them golden brown and remove it in a bowl.
  2. Heat some oil in a deep bottomed vessel and add ghee. Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, black peppercorns, cloves and green chilies. Stir well.
  3. Add lengthwise chopped onions and stir well. Make the onions golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and spinach puree. Mix well and cook the puree well.
  5. Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chili powder, biryani masala and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add washed basmati rice and mix well. Add water to cook the rice.
  7. Let it come to a boil and keep it for 10-12 minutes on low gas.
  8. Once the pulao is cooked add the shallow fried paneer. Mix well and close lid. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Palak Paneer Pulao is ready.
