Katlu Pak
Katlu Pak is a traditional Gujarati vasanu recipe which is prepared during the winters. This winter special recipe is very healthy and boosts your immunity. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Coarse Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)
  • ¾ Cup Cashew-Almond (Kaju-Badam) Powder
  • ½ Cup Grinded Dried Coconut (Suka Nariyal)
  • ¼ Cup Gundar (Gond)
  • 3 Tablespoons of Katlu Powder
  • 1 Cup Ghee
  • 1.5 Cups of Jaggery (Gud)
  • Chopped Almonds (Badam)
  • Chopped Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
Procedure:
  1. Heat ghee in a kadhai and add once it metls add the coarse wheat flour and roast it well. Roast till it becomes nice golden brown and the ghee separates.
  2. Add gundar and stir well. The gundar will start to pop. Roast them well.
  3. Now grease a plate or tray with ghee and pour the mixture in it. Flatten it and top it with chopped almonds and chopped cashew nuts. Let it set for 1 hour at room temperature. After 1 hour cut it into pieces and Katlu Pak is ready.
  4. Now add jaggery and melt it. Make sure no lumps remain in the mixture, the mixture should be smooth.
  5. Add grinded dried coconut, cashew-almond powder and katlu powder. Mix them well and roast it for 3-5 minutes on low gas.
  6. Now grease a plate or tray with ghee and pour the mixture in it. Flatten it and top it with chopped almonds and chopped cashew nuts. Let it set for 1 hour at room temperature. After 1 hour cut it into pieces and Katlu Pak is ready.
