Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 4-5 Grated Potatoes
  • ½ Cup Chana Dal
  • Raisins (Kishmish)
  • Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
  • 3-4 Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 2 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 1 Teaspoon Powdered Sugar
  • Salt
Procedure:
  1. Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours and then on a cloth place them to dry. It will take around 20-25 minutes for it to dry completely.
  2. Wash the grated potatoes 4-5 times to remove the starch. Drain the water from it.
  3. Deep fry the grated potatoes. Fry them till they become light brown in color and remove them in a bowl.
  4. Also deep fry the chana dal. Make sure it is cooked well while frying. Remove it in a bowl.
  5. Now add the chana dal to the fried potatoes. Add raisins, cashew nuts, salt, lemon juice and powdered sugar. Mix it well.
  6. For tadka take little oil so that the chevdo doesn’t become too much oily. Add curry leaves, green chilies, sesame seeds and turmeric powder. Pour this tadka over the chevdo. Mix well.
  7. Vadodara Lilo Chevdo is ready.
