Bhaidku
Bhaidku is a traditional Gujarati recipe. This recipe is a very old Gujarati recipe which is prepared in every Gujarati house. Bhaidku is an extremely healthy recipe as it contains bajra, jowar, green moong dal and rice. In this Gujarati Bhaidku recipe you can also add vegetables to make it more healthy & tasty. If you are preparing Bhaidku for babies you can skip green chilies and ginger. This tasty Gujarati recipe is very simple to make and should try it at home.


Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 50 Grams Bajra
  • 50 Grams Jowar
  • 50 Grams Green Moong Dal
  • 50 Grams Rice (Chawal)
  • 2-3 Teaspoon Peanut (Singdana) Powder
  • 3-4 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Inch Finely Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Water
  • Ghee
Procedure:
  1. Roast jowar, bajra, green moong dal and rice. Roast them well and take it out in a bowl. Grind it into coarse powder. You can store this powder in air tight jar.
  2. Now for making Gujarati Bhaidku heat some ghee and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilies and ginger. Sauté it well.
  3. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
  4. Add 3 cups of water and let it boil well.
  5. For 3 cups of water, add 1 cup of prepared powder and stir well till it becomes thick.
  6. Now add peanut powder, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Stir well and then close lid to cook it.
  7. Garnish it with coriander leaves and our traditional Bhaidku is ready.
