Paneer Lasooni
Paneer Lasooni is a spicy and popular Paneer Nu Shaak. In this paneer recipe in Gujarati we have prepared a garlic based masala and have add shallow fried paneer to it. Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 400 Grams Paneer Cubes
  • ¾ Cup of Curd (Dahi)
  • 1-2 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 12-15 Finely Chopped Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
  • 1-1.5 Inch Finely Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • 1-2 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 2 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
  • 2 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 Teaspoon Dried Fenugreek (Kasuri Methi)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • Salt
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Sugar (Optional)
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Ghee
Procedure:
  1. Heat some oil for shallow frying paneer. Add turmeric powder and add the paneer cubes. Shallow fry them well. Once they are fried well add salt and black pepper powder. Stir well and take the paneer out in a bowl.
  2. For gravy heat some oil and add bay leaves, dried red chilies, finely chopped green chilies, finely chopped ginger and some finely chopped garlic. We have used half of the garlic, the other half portion of garlic will be used for tadka. Stir well.
  3. Add finely chopped onion and let it become golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhana jeera powder and garam masala. Mix well.
  5. Add curd and salt. Stir well.
  6. Add paneer cubes and kasuri methi. Mix well.
  7. Add water and prepare the gravy. Close lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add sugar if required and mix well.
  9. Heat ghee for tadka and remaining finely chopped garlic. Add this tadka to the sabji and garnish it with coriander leaves. Paneer Lasooni is ready.
