Ingredients:
- 2 Cups of Rice
- 1 Cup Tur Dal
- 1 Cup Chopped Cabbage (Patta Gobi)
- 1-2 Diced Carrots (Gajar)
- 150 Grams Green Peas (Matar)
- 2 Chopped Tomatoes
- 2 Diced Potatoes
- ½ Cup Peanuts (Singdana)
- 2-3 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
- ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
- 3-4 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
- ¾ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- 1 Teaspoon Sambar Masasla
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- Salt
- Oil
- Ghee
- Water
Procedure:
- Soak rice and tur dal for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil & add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, dried red chilies, finely chopped green chilies and peanuts. Stir well.
- Add rice and tur dal. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
- Add cabbage, carrots, green peas, potatoes and mix well.
- Add red chili powder, sambar masala and salt. Stir well.
- Add water as per requirement and mix well.
- Add chopped tomatoes, lemon juice, sugar, ghee and finely chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles and Swaminaryan Khichdi is ready.
