Recipe: Ingredients:
  • Potatoes
For Masala:
  • 1 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak-Lehsun) Paste
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • ¾ Teaspoon Cloves (Laung) Powder
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Powdered Sugar
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Salt
  • Oil
For Batter:
  • 1-1.5 Cups of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Flour (Chawal ka Atta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • Salt
  • Water
Procedure:
  1. In a kadhai heat some oil add asafoetida and roast the gram flour well.
  2. Now take this flour in a bowl and add ginger-garlic paste, sesame seeds, black pepper powder, cloves powder, red chili powder, dhana jeera powder, powdered sugar, lemon juice, salt and mix well.
  3. Add 1-2 teaspoons of oil and mix well.
  4. Now cut very thin slices of potatoes. You can use slicer in this process. Put the slices in water so that they don’t become black.
  5. 5. For the batter take gram flour, add rice flour, salt, turmeric powder and mix well. Add water and prepare batter for dabda.
  6. Now take a slice of potato and place some masala over it. Place another slice on it and make a sandwich. Prepare all the slices in similar way.
  7. Dip the prepared slices in batter and deep fry them in oil. Make them nice fluffy and golden.
  8. Dabda is ready, serve them with onion and green chilies.
