Jain Kacha Kela Nu Shaak | Raw Banana Sabji | Gujarati Rasoi

Recipe: Ingredients: For Kofta:
  • 5-6 Raw Bananas (Kacha Kela)
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 3-4 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Dried Mango (Amchur) Powder
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
For Gravy:
  • 3-4 Tomatoes
  • ½ Cup Cream (Malai)
  • 8-10 Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
  • 1-1.5 Inch Ginger (Adrak)
  • 3-4 Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds (Saunf)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Dana)
  • 2 Bay Leaves (Tej Pata)
  • 2 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a pressure cooker add raw bananas and some water. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and boil the bananas.
  2. Mash the boiled bananas and then add gram flour, finely chopped green chilies, black pepper powder, dried mango powder, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  3. Prepare koftas from the mixture and deep fry them in oil.
  4. Now for gravy prepare a paste of tomato, green chilies, cashew nuts and ginger.
  5. Heat some oil and add fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, bay leaves and dried red chilies. Sauté it well.
  6. Add the paste and fry it well.
  7. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhana jeera powder, garam masala and salt. Stir well.
  8. Add cream and mix well.
  9. Add water & prepare gravy. Let it come to a boil.
  10. Add koftas and garnish it with coriander leaves. Kaccha Kela Na Kofta is ready.
