Nylon Khaman
Khaman is a popular Gujarati Farsan recipe. Khaman can be prepare in various ways and can be enjoyed with either traditional chutney or green chilies. Today we will make Nylon Khaman recipe at home. Nylon Khaman are very soft and spongy. This Gujarati Khaman recipe is very easy to make and can be prepared quickly at home. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1 Tablespoon Semolina (Rava)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Green Chili-Ginger (Hari Mirch-Adrak) Paste
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 1 Packet Eno
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Oil
  • Water
For Tempering:
  • 3-4 Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Til)
  • Water
  1. In gram flour add semolina, sugar, lemon juice, green chili-ginger paste, salt and mix well.
  2. Add water and prepare batter for khaman.
  3. Grease mould with oil.
  4. In the batter add eno and some water. Whisk it well.
  5. In a cooker add some water and keep a stand. Place the mould and pour the batter in the mould. Close lid of the cooker and steam it without whistle for 15-20 minutes on medium gas.
  6. Now for tempering heat some oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, sesame seeds, curry leaves and green chilies. Switch off the gas and add some water.
  7. Pour the tadka over the khaman and garnish it with coriander leaves. Cut it into pieces and serve it with chutney.
