Moong Dal Bhajiya

Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 1.5-2 Cups of Green Moong Dal
  • 1 Grated Potato
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak-Lehsun) Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
For Chaat:
  • Curd (Dahi)
  • Chaat Masala
  • Roasted Cumin Seed (Jeera) Powder
  • Dates-Tamarind (Khajur Imli Chutney) Chutney
  • Green Chutney
Procedure:
  1. Soak green moong dal for 5-6 hours, drain the water completely and grind it coarsely in mixer.
  2. Take the coarsely grinded moong dal and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhana jeera powder, crushed carom seeds, ginger-garlic paste, grated potato, finely chopped onion, finely chopped coriander leaves and salt. Mix it well and prepare the batter for bhajiyas. You won’t need water to prepare the batter.
  3. Deep fry the bhajiyas in oil. Fry it on medium flame.
  4. Place the bhajiyas in plate and add some chaat masala, roasted cumin seed powder, curd, dates-tamarind chutney and green chutney.
  5. Moong Dal Bhajiya is ready.
