Bhajiya Sandwich - Batata Bhajiya Gujarati

Bhajiiya Pav is a famous street food recipe of Mumbai. Mumbai street food is famous all over the world. Today we will make Mumbai Bhajiya Pav by using Bread as in lockdown it might difficult to find a Pav but that should not stop our craving for this Bombay food. This is a very quick sandwich recipe and you should try it.

Ingredients:
For Bhajiyas:
  • Potatoes
  • 2 Cups of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Cup of Rice Flour (Chawal ka Atta)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
For Sandwich:
  • Bread Slices
  • Butter
  • Green Chutney
  • Onion Slices
  • Green Chilies
Procedure:
  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices. Cut the slices thin and dip them in water.
  2. Now on a cotton cloth put the slices so that the water is absorbed.
  3. In a bowl take gram flour (Pass the Gram Flour to Hole Sieve to remove any granules in the flour and to make it fine), add rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, crushed carom seeds and salt. Mix them. Add water and prepare batter for bhajiyas.
  4. Heat some oil and add hot oil to the batter to make the bhajiyas crispy.
  5. In the same oil, deep fry some green chilies. Add salt to the fried green chilies and mix well.
  6. Dip the potato slices in batter and deep fry the bhajiyas.
  7. Now take two bread slices and apply butter on both. Apply green chutney to one slice, place the bhajiyas, onion slices and some fried green chilies. Close the sandwich and our Bhajiya Sandwich is ready, enjoy it with tomato sauce.
