Bhindi Masala | Quick Bhinda Nu Shaak | Gujarati Rasoi

Bhindi is a vegetable loved by everyone and Bhinda Nu Shaak is very popular in Gujarati cuisine. Today we will make Bhindi Masala without onion and garlic. In a simple tomato based masala we will cook Bhindi ki Sabji. This Bhinda Nu Shaak recipe in Gujarati requires less ingredients and can be prepared quickly. Ingredients:
  • 500 Grams Okra (Bhindi)
  • ¾ Cup Curd (Dahi)
  • 2 Finley Chopped Tomato
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 2 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 Teaspoon Dried Fenugreek (Kasuri Methi)
  • ¾ Teaspoon Dried Mango Powder (Amchur) Powder
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Remove the stem and bottom part of okra and make a slit in center. Shallow fry the bhindis and remove them in a bowl.
  2. Now heat oil and add cumin seeds, asafoetida and finely chopped tomatoes. Cook the tomatoes well till they become soft.
  3. Now add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chili powder and dried mango powder. Stir well. Add curd and stir well.
  4. Add shallow fried bhindi and salt. Cook them well for 3-5 minutes. Don’t close the lid while cooking the bhindi.
  5. Now add garam masala and dried fenugreek leaves. Mix well.
  6. Garnish it with coriander leaves and our tasty bhinda nu shaak is ready.
