Gujarati Bhindi ki Sabji - Village Style Bhinda Nu Shaak - Gujarati Rasoi

We will make today Kathywadi style Bhinda Nu Shaak. This recipe is very quick to make and can be prepared for lunch time. In this recipe we have used a special garlic chutney which gives a different taste to this recipe. We have cooked bhindi in normal traditional Gujarati masalas. Ingredients:
  • 250 Grams Chopped Okra ( Bhindi)
  • 2 Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1-2 Finely Chopped Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves (Lehsun)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a pestle crush garlic cloves and red chilli powder and make a chutney.
  2. Now heat oil and mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafoetida. Let it crackle and then add the prepared chutney. Fry the chutney well.
  3. Now add turmeric powder, dhana jeera power, chopped green chilies and chopped tomato. Let the tomatoes cook.
  4. Now add okra and some salt. Cook the okra well and our Bhinda Nu Shaak is ready. [ Note: Cook the okra without covering the pan or else the okras will be sticky].
