Sabudana Ni Khichdi - Upvas Special Recipes | Gujarati Rasoi

We usually prepare Sabudana Khichdi or Farali Khichdi for our Navratri vrat. Today I will show you a different style to make Sabudana Khichdi for Navratri upvas. This upvas recipe of sabudana khichdi is very quick to make and mainly consists of roasted peanut powder and coconut which gives the Khichdi a different taste.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 250-300 Grams of Sago (Sabudana)
  • ½ Cup Roasted Peanut (Singdana) Powder
  • 1 Cup Crushed Coconut (Nariyal)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 2-3 Chopped Potatoes
  • Some Peanuts (Singdana)
  • 2 Teaspoons Crushed Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • Salt
  • Ghee

Procedure: 
  1. Soak Sago (Sabudana) for 5-6 hours.
  2. Take the soaked sago in a bowl and add roasted peanut powder, crushed coconut, lemon juice, salt and sugar. Mix well.
  3. Now heat ghee and add cumin seeds, curry leaves and potatoes. Stir it well and fry the potatoes in the oil.
  4. Now add green chili paste and peanuts. Stir well and then close lid to cook the potatoes.
  5. Add the Sago (Sabudana) Mixture and mix well. Add salt as per taste and stir well. Close lid and cook the sago (sabudana) well.
  6. Garnish it with coriander leaves and Sabudana Khichdi is ready.
