Jalebi is a popular Indian sweet prepared on the occasion of Dashera. Jalebi Fafda is a popular breakfast on the day of Dashera in Gujarat. It is a tradition which is never broken.   • 1 Cup of Refined Flour (Maida)
  • ¼ Cup Curd (Dahi)
  • ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Vinegar
  • Ghee
For Sugar Syrup:
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • ¾ Cup Water
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • ¾ Teaspoon of Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
  • Saffron (Kesar)
  1. In a mixing bowl add refined flour, curd, baking soda and vinegar. Mix well.
  2. Add water and prepare a smooth batter for Jalebi. Let the batter rest for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Now add this batter in a sauce bottle.
  4. To prepare the sugar syrup, place an utensil on stove and add 1 cup sugar and ¾ cup water. Dissolve ths sugar well.
  5. Add lemon juice and stir well. Add saffron and cardamom powder. Mix well. Prepare a sugar syrup with almost 1 thread.
  6. Now in a kadhai heat some ghee and deep fry the jalebis. Keep the gas on medium flame and don’t make them too much brown while frying.
  7. Once the jalebis are ready add to the syrup and dip them for 2-3 minutes.
