Ganesh Modak Recipe - Instant Modak for Ganesh Chaturthi 2019

And when we bring the beautiful Ganpati Murti at home it brings peace and happiness to our home. On this occasion we usually prepare sweet recipe like Modak, a delicacy loved by Ganpati Bappa. Modak can be prepared by various ways like Mawa Modak, Fried Modak, Steamed Modak, etc. Today we will prepare quick and easy modak recipe that can be prepared easily at home.

Ingredients:
For Kesar Milk:
  • Saffron (Kesar)
  • Warm Milk
For Modaks:
  • 1 Cup Semolina (Rava)
  • 2.5 Cups of Milk
  • ¾ -1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Coarsely Grinded Almonds (Badam)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Coarsely Grinded Pistachios (Pista)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
  • Ghee
Procedure:
  1. In a small bowl take some warm milk and add some kesar to prepare the kesar milk mixture. Keep it for 10-15 minutes so that the milk gets coloured by the kesar.
  2. Heat some ghee in kadhai and add semolina. Roast it well on medium flame.
  3. Once the semolina becomes brownish add coarsely grinded almonds and coarsely grinded pistachios. Stir well. Now add hot milk and mix well till the milk gets absorbed and the mixture becomes thick.
  4. Add kesar milk and stir well.
  5. Add sugar and mix well. Let the sugar melt mix well.
  6. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Switch off the gas and stir till it becomes thick. Let the mixture cool down. If required you can keep it in fridge for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Once the mixture is cooled, using a mould prepare modaks. Instant Rava Modaks are ready.
