Farsi Puri - Gujarati Farsan for Tea Time - Gujarati Rasoi

Farsi Puri is a popular Gujarati snacks item. This puri is prepared from wheat flour, some semolina an the traditional spices. Farsi puri is crisp from outside and little bit soft from inside. Farsi puri is best enjoyed with a cup of tea. So prepare this recipe and enjoy it with a cup of tea on a rainy day.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Semolina (Rava)
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Lukewarm Ghee
  • Warm Water
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a mixing bowl take wheat flour and add semolina, carom seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper powder, salt and lukewarm ghee. Add warm water and knead a firm dough. Apply some oil to make the dough smooth.
  2. Now take a portion of the dough, if required dust it with some wheat flour and roll it into a roti. Keep the thickness neither too thin nor too thick. 
  3. With the help of puri cutter or a small bowl cut puris out of the roti.
  4. Deep fry these puris in oil and our Farsi Puri is ready.
