Amazing Palak Chaat Recipe - Palak Bhajiya Chaat - Street Style

This recipe is an amazing combination of Palak na Bhajiya and the tangy- spicy taste of chaat. This chaat recipe is famous in Benaras (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh. Palak na Bhajiya are prepared and are topped with curd, chutneys, chaat masala, red chilli powder, jeera powder and generous amount of sev. For Palak Bhajiya:
  • Spinach (Palak)
  • 2 Cups of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Rice Flour (Chawal ka Atta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
For Serving:
  • Curd (Dahi)
  • Dates-Tamarind (Khajur Imli) Chutney
  • Green Chutney
  • Chopped Onions
  • Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • Chaat Masala
  • Roasted Cumin Seed (Jeera) Powder
  • Sev
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  1. In a mixing bowl add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhana jeera powder, carom seeds, asafoetida, salt and mix well. Add water and prepare the batter for the bhajiya.
  2. Dip the spinach leaves in batter and deep fry them.
  3. Once ready remove them in a serving plate. Top it with some curd, dates tamarind chutney, green chutney, sprinkle some red chilli powder, roasted cumin seed powder, chaat masala, chopped onions and finally some sev and coriander leaves.
  4. Palak Bhajiya Chaat is ready.
