Tandoori Chai Recipe at Home - Simple Chai Recipe

Chai is a popular hot beverage enjoyed in India. Recently a new invention of the chai recipe in form of Tandoori Chai has become popular. Tandoori Chai recipe is originally from Pune but now you can make this recipe even at home using normal kitchen ingredients. The real taste of this chai is the earthen pot or kulhad that we use to prepare the chai. This earthen is easily available in the market. Originally the earthen pot is heated on coal but we will do it on gas flame. Try out this recipe and let us know about the taste in comment box.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 1.5 Cups of Milk
  • 1.5 -2 Teaspoons Tea Leaves (Chai Patti)
  • 2-3 Cinnamon Sticks (Dalchini)
  • ½ Inch Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
  • 2-2.5 Teaspoons of Sugar
Procedure:
  1. Boil some water and add tea leaves, cinnamon sticks, chopped ginger, cardamom powder and sugar. Stir well till starts to boil.
  2. Add milk and stir well. Let the tea come to a boil.
  3. Heat a kulhad (earthen pot) on a gas stove well from all sides. Heat it on medium to slow flame. Also it heat it from inside by placing it upside down.
  4. Filter the tea. Place the kulhad in a bowl and pour the tea into the heated Kulhad. The tea will come up and absorb the earthen taste. Now pour this tea back to the bowl and serve it another Kulhad.
