Surat Rice Khichu Recipe - Famous Gujarati Khichu Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Rice Flour
  • 3-4 Cups of Water
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Crushed Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Papad Khar or Soda
  • Salt
  • Peanut Oil
  • Achaar Masala
Procedure:
  1. Boil water in an utensil. Add cumin seeds, carom seeds, salt and crushed green chilies. Let it boil for a while till the colour of the water changes to yellowish.
  2. Add papad khar or soda and rice flour. Stir well with a rolling pin. 
  3. Stir well on a low flame till it thickens. Close lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve this khichu in a plate and top it with peanut oil and achar masala. Gujarati Khichu is ready.
