Gujarati Saragva Nu Shaak - Drumsticks Sabji - Gujarati Recipes

Saragva Nu Shaak is a popular Gujarati recipe. This gujarati saragva nu shaak is a quick lunch thali recipe. We have prepared this Saragva nu shaak in gujarati in a simple masala consisting of onions, tomatoes and simple masala. Further we have boiled the saragva before preparing the sabzi so that the recipe is quick to make.

Ingredients:
  • 3-4 Boiled Drumsticks (Saragva)
  • 2 Finely Chopped Onions
  • 1 Finely Chopped Tomato
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak- Lehsun) Paste
  • 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves. Stir well.
  2. Add finely chopped onions and stir till it turns golden brown.
  3. Add finely chopped tomato and ginger-garlic paste. Stir well.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhana jeera powder and garam masala. Fry the masalas well.
  5. Add boiled drumsticks and stir well.
  6. Add water as per requirement and salt. Mix well.
  7. Close lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Garnish it with coriander leaves and Sargva Nu Shaak is ready.
