Masala Chaas with Smoked Flavor - Gujarati Rasoi

Chaas is an excellent thirst quencher in this hot summer and is an excellent drink for our stomach. Today we will make a different Masala Chaas recipe with taste and aroma of smoky flavour. Smoky Chaas consists of simple masala chaas with the flavour of coal. This chaas recipe not only quenches your thirst but gives a soothing relief to your entire body from the heat. Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Curd (Dahi)
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 10-12 Mint (Pudina) Leaves
  • ½ Inch Ginger (Adrak)
  • 1 Teaspoon Roasted Cumin Seed (Jeera) Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Ghee
  • Salt
Procedure:
  1. In a mixer cup add curd, roasted cumin seed powder, black pepper powder, ginger, mint leaves, salt and water. Grind it well.
  2. Take the curd mixture in a bowl. In a small cup, take some hot coal and keep it over the chaas mixture. Now over the hot coal, add cumin seeds and some ghee. Cover the Chaas immediately and let the smoky flavour get infused for 2 minutes.
  3. Refrigerate and Smoky Chaas ready.
