Keri Ni Dal - Raw Mango Dal Recipe - Gujarati Rasoi

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup of Tur Dal
  • 1 Chopped Raw Mango
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Green Chili- Ginger (Hari Mirch- Adrak) Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 2 Dried Red Chilies (Lal Sukhi Mirch)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dal Shaak Masala
  • ½ Teaspoon Sambar Masala
  • Jaggery (Gud)
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. In a cooker take some water and place an utensil. In this utensil add tur dal, water and raw mango. Pressure cook it for 4-5 whistles.
  2. Now whisk this dal well.
  3. In a kadhai, heat some oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, dried red chillies and green chilli- ginger paste. Sauté it well.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and dhana jeera powder. Mix well.
  5. Add the whisked dal and stir well.
  6. Add water as per requirement and mix well. Let the dal come to a boil.
  7. Add dal shaak masala, sambar masala, salt, jaggery and stir well. Let it boil for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Garnish it with some coriander leaves and Keri Ni Dal is ready.
