Fajeto - Traditional Gujarati Kadhi with Mango - Gujarati Rasoi

Fajeto is a typical traditional Gujarati Kadhi recipe which consists of ripe mango pulp and traditional Gujarati kadhi recipe ingredients. This kadhi recipe in Gujarati is very easy to make and it has the essence of Gujarati cooking. Kadhi recipe Gujarati style is very healthy and is very light to digest. Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup of Curd
  • 3/4 -1 Cup Mango Pulp
  • 1-1.5 Tablespoons Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Green Chili-Ginger (Hari Mirch- Adrak) Paste
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Daana)
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks (Dalchini)
  • 4-5 Cloves (Laung)
  • 2-3 Dried Red Chilies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
  • 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Jaggery (Gud)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Ghee
Procedure:
  1. In curd, add mango pulp, gram flour, turmeric powder, green chili-ginger paste, salt and whisk all the ingredients well.
  2. Heat ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, dried red chilies and curry leaves. Stir well.
  3. Add the curd-mango mixture and mix well.
  4. Add water and jaggery. Stir well and let the kadhi boil till the jaggery melts. Fajeto is ready.
