Athana No Masalo | Achar Masala Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Athanu is a very popular and traditional Gujarati recipe which is usually prepared in the Summer season. Most important part of athanu or pickle is the athanu masala or pickle masala which gives the pickle the peculiar taste and preserves it for longer time. In this video we have shown how to make pickle masala at home and you can use this masala to make keri no athanu, gajar ka achaar, vegetable pickle, etc.
  • 25 Grams Split Mustard Seeds (Rai Na Kuria)
  • 25 Grams Split Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Na Kuria)
  • Rock Salt
  • 1.5-2 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1.5- 2 Tablespoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Hing
  • Oil
  1. In a bowl take rai na kuria, methi na kuria,  rock salt, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder and hing.
  2. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. Heat oil till it is steaming hot then let it cool and then add it to the masala.
  4. Achaar Masala is ready can be used to make Mango Pickle, Carrot Pickle, Vegetable Pickle, etc.
