For Muthiyas:
  • 2 Cups of Leftover Rice
  • ½ Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Finely Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
For Gravy:
  • 3 Cups of Buttermilk (Chaas)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Jaggery (Gud)
  • Coriander Leaves
For Tadka:
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic (Lehsun) Chutney
  • 2-3 Dried Red Chillies (Lal Sukhi Mirch)
  • 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
Procedure:
  1. For making the muthias, take leftover rice and add gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhana jeera powder, chopped ginger, salt and coriander leaves.
  2. Prepare a dough of the mixture and make muthias out of it. Apply some oil to your palm to make the muthias easily.
  3. For the gravy in a mixing bowl add gram flour to buttermilk and whisk well.
  4. Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  5. Heat the kadhai and add this mixture.
  6. Add jaggery and let the mixture boil.
  7. Add the prepared muthias to the gravy and stir well.
  8. Close lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add coriander leaves.
  10. Now for tadka, heat some oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, garlic chutney, dried red chillies, curry leaves and mix well.
  11. Pour the tadka over the shaak and close lid to cook it for 2 minutes.
  12. Quick and easy muthia nu shaak recipe is ready.
