  • 2 Cups Urad Dal
  • 3-4 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1-1.5 Inch Ginger (Adrak)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
For Dahi:
  • 1-1.5 Cup of Curd (Dahi)
  • Salt
  • Sugar
For Serving:
  • Dates-Tamarind ( Khajur – Imli ) Chutney
  • Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • Chaat Masala
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
Procedure:
  1. Soak urad dal for 2-3 hours.
  2. In a mixer add the soaked dal, green chillies, ginger and salt. Grind and prepare a smooth batter.
  3. Stir the batter well to make it fluffy. Add water if required and prepare a batter with smooth consistency.
  4. Heat oil, prepare the vadas and deep fry them.
  5. Soak these vadas in cold water for 5 minutes.
  6. Now in curd add salt and sugar. Whisk well. Keep the curd little bit thick.
  7. Squeeze the soaked vadas and place them on a plate.
  8. Now add the prepared curd over it.
  9. Add dates-tamarind chutney, sprinkle red chilli powder and chaat masala.
  10. Garnish with some coriander leaves and Mumbai chaat recipe dahi vada is ready to eat.
