Moong Dal Halwa Recipe | Gujarati Shiro Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Shiro is a traditional Gujarati sweet recipe. Shiro is often prepared during auspicious occasions and during pujas as a prasad. This shiro prasad recipe is prepared using Mag Ni Dal. Magdal No Shiro is a very popular recipe in Gujarat and a must try recipe. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Moong Dal
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Warm Milk
  • ½ Teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
  • Some Chopped Pistachios (Pista)
  • Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
  • Chopped Almonds (Badam)
  • Ghee
Procedure: 
  1. Soak moong dal for 6-7 hours and grind it coarsely. 
  2. Heat some ghee and roast the grinded moong dal on a medium flame for 15-20 minutes. 
  3. Once it becomes golden brown, add sugar and let it dissolve.
  4. Add warm milk and let it get absorbed. 
  5. Add cardamom powder, chopped pistachios, chopped cashew nuts and chopped almonds.
  6. Stir well and Mag Ni Dal No Shiro is ready.
