Gathiya is a popular Gujarati Farsan recipe. Using bhavnagri gathiya we will today make Gathiya nu shaak. In this gathiya recipe we will be using chaas to give it a nice sour taste. This recipe is very quick to make and requires minimum ingredients. This recipe of gathiya consists of a tomato and onion based gravy. - 2-2.5 Cups of Buttermilk (Chaas)
- 2 Chopped Onions
- 2 Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 2 Dried Red Chillies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
- 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
- 2 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic (Adrak-Lehsun)
- ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
- Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
- Salt
- Oil
- Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, dried red chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté it well.
- Add chopped onions and stir till it turns golden brown.
- Add chopped tomatoes and sauté them well.
- Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and stir well.
- Add buttermilk and mix well.
- Before serving add gathiyas and some coriander leaves.
- Gathiya Nu Shaaak is ready.
