This Live Dhokla Street Food recipe is very popular on the streets of Gujarat. Live Dhokla banavani rit is very simple and this live dhokla recipe in gujarati can be prepared easily at home. This quick live dhokla recipe is without fermentation. This dhokla recipe consists of a combination of urad dal, sooji, rice flour and besan with some traditional Gujarati spices. Live Dhokla is topped with some red chilli powder and enjoyed with oil and green chutney. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • ¾ Cups of Semolina (Suji)
  • ¼ Cup of Urad Dal Flour
  • ¼ Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Cup of Rice Flour
  • 2 Teaspoon Green Chilli-Ginger (Hari Mirch-Adrak) Paste
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • ¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Packet Eno
  • Water
  • Salt
Procedure:
  1. In a mixing bowl, add semolina, urad dal flour, rice flour, gram flour, salt, sugar, green chilli-ginger paste and oil. Mix well.
  2. Now add sour curd and mix well.
  3. Add some water and stir well.
  4. Add turmeric powder and asafoetida and mix well.
  5. Cover the batter and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Add eno and some water. Mix swiftly till the mixture doubles.
  7. Pour this batter in a plate greased with oil.
  8. In a cooker take some water and place the plate on a stand. Sprinkle some red chilli powder.
  9. Steam it for 15-20 minutes without whistle.
  10. Once steamed, let the dhoklas cool litlle bit and then cut the dhokla into pieces.
  11. Gujarati Live Dhokla is ready serve it with oil and green chutney.
