Chakri Recipe | Diwali Special Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi


Chakri is must on the occasion of Diwali. This recipe presented by Gujarati Rasoi is not only tasty but also easy & quick to prepare. These Chakris are made up of rice flour and dariya dal flour (roasted split gram flour) along with spices like dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and garam masala. Do try out and comment your suggestions. Recipe: Ingredients-
  • 250 grams of Rice Flour ( Chawal ka Atta)
  • ½ Cup of Roasted Split Gram (Daria Dal/ Dariya)
  • ½ Cup of Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)
  • ½ Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder ( Haldi)
  • 2 Teaspoon of Coriander –Cumin seed Powder ( Dhana Jeera Powder)
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder ( Lal Mirch Powder )
  • 3 Teaspoon of Green Chilli – Ginger – Garlic Paste (Hari Mirch – Adrak- Lehsun)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • Handful of White Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
Procedure:
  1. Take 250 grams of rice and soak it in water overnight, dry it and then grind to make flour.
  2. Grind the roasted split grams i.e. daria dal to make flour.
  3. Mix these two flours well.
  4. Add the turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and garam masala and mix it well.
  5. Add the green chilli-ginger-garlic paste and mix it with other ingredients.
  6. Add carom seeds (ajwain) and white sesame seeds (safed til).
  7. Add salt as per taste.
  8. Add water and knead dough of the mixture.
  9. Add ½ cup of wheat flour and knead the mixture.
  10. Grease the Chakli Maker and add the dough in the Chakli Maker.
  11. Now, take out the Chaklis and deep fry them in oil till they become golden brown.
  12. Chaklis are ready to enjoy.
