Tomato Kadhi | Kadhi Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Tomato Kadhi, a classic Kadhi Recipe with a twist that makes it yummy and tasty recipe. Fresh tomatoes and curry leaves makes the Kadhi rich with nutrients and also an excellent substitute to your everyday cooking. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • Puree of 5 Boiled Tomatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons of Gram Flour
  • ½ Teaspoon of Mustard Seeds
  • ½ Teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves
  • 4 Cloves
  • ¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 – 1 ½ Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
  • 3 Finely chopped green chillies
  1. Heat some oil in shallow bottomed pan.
  2. When oil is heated add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves, cloves and green chillies. Fry all the ingredients well.
  3. Now add turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix the masala well.
  4. Now add the Gram Flour and fry the flour properly.
  5. Add the tomato puree and stir the ingredients well.
  6. Add salt and jagg ery as per taste.
  7. To have the consistency of a Kadhi add the water used for boiling the tomatoes to retain the nutrients.
  8. Cook the mixture for 5 minutes and Tomato Kadhi is ready to relish.
