Surat Veg Ghotala Recipe | Paneer Nu Shaak | Gujarati Rasoi

Surat is famous for it’s street food Ghotala which is usually prepared from eggs. But for our vegetarian friends we would like to bring Surti Veg Ghotala recipe which is prepared using Paneer. This Paneer Ghotala is prepared in Surti Green Garlic with other spices. Surti Ghotala is enjoyed with Pavs roasted in butter.   • 300 Grams Grated Paneer
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • Puree of 2-3 Tomatoes
  • 10-12 Finely Chopped Green Garlic (Hara Lehsun)
  • 10-12 Finely Chopped Leaves of Green Garlic (Hara Lehsun ke Patte)
  • 1-1.5 Finely Chopped Ginger (Adrak)
  • 4-5 Finely Chopped Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • 2 Teaspoons Butter
  • Water
  • Oil
  1. Heat oil and add butter and melt it.
  2. Add green garlic and the leaves of green garlic. Stir fry it well.
  3. Now add finely chopped ginger, finely chopped green chillies. Stir well.
  4. Add chopped onion and stir till it turns transparent.
  5. Add tomato puree and let it cook well.
  6. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhana jeera powder and salt as per taste.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Add some coriander leaves and grated paneer. Mix well.
  9. Add water if required and stir well.
  10. Veg Paneer Ghotala is ready.
