Suran Nu Shaak | Farali Recipes | Gujarati Rasoi

Specially for Agiyaras we would like to present Farali Suran Nu Shaak. Agiyaras is a very pious fasting occasion in Gujarati traditions. In Gujarati traditions Agiyaras is observed by eating only those vegetables which are grown under the ground. Suran or yam is often eaten for Agiyaras and hence we would like to bring an easy and tasty Suran Nu Shaak recipe that you can enjoy with Farali Pudla or with Farali Bhakri. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 500 Grams Boiled & Diced Yam (Suran)
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Green Chilli (Hari Mirch) Paste
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Roasted Peanut (Singdana) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli paste and fry well.
  2. Now add roasted peanut powder and stir well.
  3. Add boiled yam and mix well.
  4. Add salt, lemon juice, sugar and mix well.
  5. Close lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Open lid and add some coriander leaves. Suran Nu Shaak is ready to eat.
